The QA Tech is responsible for testing product samples and accurately recording results.
Light cleaning and organizing of the laboratory, daily / weekly plant inspections and other duties as assigned.
The QA Tech is under the supervision of the Quality Manager and is required to comply with the Standard Operating Procedures of Meadowvale Inc.
, the PMO, and Meadowvale's HACCP Program and Food Safety Program.
Duties and Responsibilities Daily sampling and testing of products.
Environmental cleaning as required.
Ensuring the compliance of all corporate food safety policies and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration rules (OSHA) while conducting work functions.
Critique operations from a food safety and quality point of view.
Efficiently managing time and completing all tasks assigned by the supervisory authority.
Monitoring the Master Cleaning Schedule and performing tasks as required Vacation coverage for staff as required.
Other duties as assigned.
Skills and Specifications:
Should have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to effectively manage time and meet all specified deadlines.
General computer skill including use and understanding of Excel and Word.
Language Skills:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
Education and
Qualifications:
High School degree, diploma or a GED equivalent qualification from a certified college.
Experience in food handling and sanitation.
Understanding and performing aseptic technique is a plus.
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to pull samples from blend tanks, work within the production environment, manage stairs and sit at a computer.
The employee must occasionally lift up to 50 lbs.
Work Environment:
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
The temperature and humidity can be high in the production room however the laboratory is air conditioned and humidity controlled.
